Get Out and Do Something Fun!
If your corporate party is in the summer, there are any number of things that you can do in the great outdoors. Outdoor activities are great for team building, and it is a real treat to see your workmates in a completely different environment compared to behind their desks. One classic day out is to organize a paint balling session. This is an excellent way to not only bond as a team but to take out your frustrations on your least favorite workmates all in the name of fun. It does hurt a bit when you get shot, but that will simply sort the goats from the sheep. This is one day trip that is going to prove a real hit with anyone, and you can usually arrange to have lunch thrown in between battles as well.
For the more adventurous, why not go on a caving, rock climbing, or hiking trip? This depends to a certain extent upon what is available in the surrounding area, but if there are some wild and rugged places out there near to your town or city then this is a great way to get back to nature and experience the thrill of the great outdoors. This is another great team-building experience for everyone, and you will be talking about your adventures together for months afterwards.
Alternatively, if you are holding your corporate party in the evening like a more standard party, the following corporate party ideas may be more helpful. Rather than just having a standard meal and drinks, it would be a great idea to get some real entertainment in with your meal, such as magicians or jugglers to keep the tables entertained throughout the evening. This might work better with larger companies with lots of tables, but for smaller companies you could hire an entertainer to perform for everyone at the same time.
If you are going down the route of having a meal with some entertainment thrown in, you could make your corporate party into a charity event as well, with donations made throughout the evening in support of a designated charity. It's a great way to get people to do something good, and no one likes to look miserly in front of their workmates. You could even make it into a quiz night with prizes to be won, and just watch the competitive edge come out in your colleagues.
Alternatively, head out for a night of gambling at the dog or horse track, and you will be sure to experience some real highs and lows during the evening. If you want to stick with the gambling theme, head to the casino where you will also be able to get a meal thrown in, and then spend the next day discussing the big winners and losers of the night.
